Per g Fusidic acid 20 mg, hydrocortisone acetate 10 mg
Indications/Uses
Dermatitis, including atopic & contact dermatitis, where an infection w/ bacteria sensitive to fusidic acid is suspected or confirmed. Milder inflammatory dermatoses on face & childn skin.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to fusidic acid/Na fusidate, or to hydrocortisone acetate. Primary skin infections caused by fungi, virus or bacteria & skin manifestations in relation to TB, either untreated or uncontrolled by appropriate treatment. Perioral dermatitis & rosacea.
Special Precautions
Avoid long-term continuous topical therapy; getting into the eyes. Reversible hypothalamic pituitary-adrenal axis suppression may occur following systemic absorption. Increased susceptibility to infection, aggravation of existing infection, & activation of latent infection. Contains butyl hydroxyanisole, cetyl alcohol & K sorbate which may cause local skin reactions (eg, contact dermatitis), & eyes & mucous membranes irritation. Pregnancy. Avoid applying on the breast during breastfeeding. Childn. Fusidic acid: May increase risk of developing antibiotic resistance w/ extended or recurrent use. Hydrocortisone acetate: Consider possible systemic absorption during treatment.
Adverse Reactions
Application site reactions including pruritus, burning & irritation.
